Types of CNC Machining

CNC Drilling

Our CNC drilling process guarantees accuracy, versatility, and reproducibility.

If you require custom precision machining via CNC drilling, Beltim & Associates is the machining manufacturer for you.

CNC Milling

We use vertical CNC milling machines, horizontal CNC milling machines, and 5-axis CNC milling machines to provide top-grade CNC manufacturing and bring complex 3D designs to life.

CNC Turning

Our CNC turning process allows for the production of complex internal and external geometries, including all kinds of threads and round-shaped components.

Advantages of CNC Machining

CNC machining is a cornerstone technology in multi-industry manufacturing. And the ability to quickly, reliably, and efficiently create a near-limitless variety of components and assemblies is invaluable in every sector.

Modern industry and domestic life could not be possible without the innumerable computer-assisted machining processes occurring globally at all hours of every day—and we're proud to uphold the tradition of machining excellence, as we've done for more than 30 years.

Repeatability, precision, and versatility make machining perfect for all stages, from prototyping to low-to-high-volume runs. In addition, computer control and engineering expertise guarantee the tightest tolerances for a full spectrum of production-grade materials. These many advantages combine to save labor, time, and materials, benefitting Beltim’s clients with competitive pricing, reliable delivery, uncompromising quality and can turn around parts in as quick as 1 day.

CNC Maching Applications

CNC machining is prized for its universality and its applications include the gamut of industries. CNC centers rapidly manufacture precise parts from production-grade materials to support the aerospace, defense, automotive, electronic, commercial, energy, food production, and medical sectors, among others.

Typical CNC parts include exterior components like casings, housings, and enclosures. And the interior components within, including gears, bearings, and delicate electronic items that continually shrink in size but not in intricacy or capability. Other common machining products include fixtures, brackets, and various supporting or structural features. And, crucially, the medical instruments, implants, and machinery save countless lives every day.

CNC Machining Surface Finishes

As Machined- The product receives no additional finishing work after completion. (Ra 3.2μm / Ra 126μin)

Smooth Machining- A finishing process applied to completed parts to reduce surface roughness and smooth over scratches, nicks, or other slight deformations. (Ra 1.6μm / Ra 63μin)

Fine Machining- A more comprehensive finishing process than above, it provides an even smoother surface where required. (Ra 0.8μm / Ra 32μin)

Polishing- Provides a smoother, shinier finish. Multiple types of polishing exist, including mechanical, chemical, and electrochemical. Polishing can boost a part's aesthetics and functional parameters (including resistance to wear and oxidation) (Ra 0.8μm / Ra 32μin)

Brushed- Uneven surfaces can be corrected to clients' specifications using various abrasive brushes, which supply the desired finish without risking substrate damage. (Ra 1.2μm / Ra 47μin)

Bead Blasted- Small, very fine beads are fired at a surface to provide mechanical abrasion.

Powder Coated- An electrostatically charged powder coat is applied to machined components. The coating includes numerous agents, such as pigments, to yield a desired color and various capabilities, including resistance to numerous stressors.

Black Oxide- An iron oxide coating helps reduce friction and corrosion and makes metals more durable. It can also decrease reflectivity, an essential consideration for various sensors and detectors.

Electroless Nickel Plating- A nickel alloy is administered onto a workpiece to improve corrosion and oxidation resistance. The plating is deposited using a chemical reducing agent, rather than electricity, to yield a more uniform finish.

Chromate Conversion Coating- Chromic acid is used to passivate production-grade materials such as aluminum. Passivation is a post-fabrication process that makes metals unreactive by covering them with an incredibly thin film, generally just 0.00001-0.00004 of an inch in thickness.
